For over 65 years, generations of church members have been planning, constructing, adjusting, donating, and serving to create a site and facility that can host community groups and be a hub of community life in north-east Christchurch.

The latest development at our site is the most significant of all and includes over $3.5 million of construction starting in 2018. The result will be an auditorium, a gym hall, a dining room, an administration centre, large meetings rooms and various small meeting rooms. Rooms can be hired for community groups at community rates, or to businesses or 'for-profit' activities at a business rate.  Although spaces are not available for personal hire or parties, the Dining Room is a place people can drop-in to during opening hours without cost or booking.  From November 2024, drop-in for a hot drink or just for a nosey.

North Block

The North Block at 58 Bassett Street next to the north car park, comprises of a large upstairs meeting room, a mid-size upstairs meeting room with kitchenette, a mid-sized meeting room downstairs with kitchen, and 3 small 'interview rooms' accessible directly from the car park.

Nicholas Room

Named after one of the founding couples who lived to see the North Black completed and the foundation laid for this room, the Nicholas Room is large, able to seat 70-80 people, and opens to an enclosed lawn area and garden.

Community hire rate: $45p/hour inc gst.

Gym Hall

With a high ceiling and timber floor, volleyball is a popular sport in our gym hall.  But it's also used for meetings and events.  Approximately 12m x 19m.

Community hire rate: $40p/hour inc gst.

Community Sports hire rate:  $18p/hour inc gst.

Tōtara Room

Upstairs in the North Block, this large room can be accessed by  stairs from the car park, or via a lift in the main corridor. 

A great space for meetings up to 60 people. Heated and cooled by it's own A/C system, this is a popular room.

Community hire rate: $40p/hour inc gst.

Various Small Rooms

We have a number of other rooms available upon enquiry. These include the Common Room with kitchenette: $25p/hour inc gst.

The North Rooms - 3 smaller interview rooms: $15p/hour inc gst.

The Connect Lounge with small kitchen: $35p/hour inc gst.

And from August 2024 the Dining Room!

Our final stage of construction in 2025 will be the main auditorium and south car park.  This final stage is dependant upon donations.
